Murindangabo Moïse and Ngabonziza Jean Paul are the ones who can be chosen as the referee who will lead the match of the third day of the Championship, which will bring together the most popular teams in Rwanda, Rayon Sports and APR FC, on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

This match will be held at a time when there will be no international male referee in the country, as many referees have been selected at the level of the African Games and others have training organized by CAF.

Sources say that on Wednesday, the Referee Commission in FERWAFA decided to appoint Murindagabo Moïse as the referee for the match between Rayon Sports and APR FC, but there may be changes due to other reasons.

Another change comes from the fact that Ngabonziza Jean Paul, who missed Wednesday’s match between APR FC and Police FC, has a chance to score in this important match on the 14th day of the Championship.

This is due to the fact that the match between APR FC and Police FC ended with the teams of the security guards tied 1-1 at the Kigali Pelé Stadium. The match was scheduled to be refereed by Ishimwe Jean Claude ‘Cucuri,’ but he could not be found, which led to these changes very quickly.

The final decision on the referees will be made on Thursday, and it will be decided whether Murindagabo Moïse will keep the game or if Ngabonziza Jean Paul will be returned as planned before the match between APR FC and Police FC.

It is the first time that a match between Rayon Sports and APR FC will be refereed by a non-international referee in the last 10 years, the last match being refereed by Ishime Claude before he was appointed as an international referee in 2014.

This is a challenge that football fans often face while football in Rwanda continues to develop but still has a problem with the administration’s performance in terms of referees. This game is considered a moment for both teams to continue competing for the first place in the Rwanda Championship.

Rayon Sports, currently leading the league with 29 points from 11 games, will face fifth-placed APR FC with 18 points from nine games to play. This game is awaited by the fans of each team because it will be able to give confidence to support their team in winning the championship.

In the last 5 league matches between the two top teams in Rwanda, Rayon Sports beat one APR FC group twice and drew twice. This match will be held at the Amahoro Stadium from 12:00 p.m., which is a much awaited match due to the quality of the game and the fact that it is the most important derby in Rwandan football.
