A Manhattan court in New York on December 16 refused to acquit Donald Trump of 34 counts of forgery that were confirmed in May 2024, stemming from payments he made to a woman they had sex with.

This woman, Stormy Daniels, is already a pornographic actress. He was given 130,000 US dollars by Trump so that he would not leave, which would reduce his chances of winning the 2016 presidential election.

After Trump won the presidential election on November 5, his lawyers asked the court to acquit him of these crimes, based on the fact that in July 2024 the Supreme Court confirmed that the former President should not be prosecuted for crimes he committed in order to protect his job.

Judge Juan Merchan of the Manhattan Court, explained that what the President or former President of the United States does is not all in the interest of work, pointing out that what Trump announces on social media is in his personal interest.

He also explained that the money Trump paid Daniels to keep him secret, related to his personal life, so it has nothing to do with the work of the Head of the Nation or the former Head of the Nation.

Trump’s spokesman, Steven Cheung, announced that the decision of the Manhattan Court violates the immunity granted by the Supreme Court to the President or his successor and that it undermines its authority.

Cheung declared that the case should not be taken to court, and that the Constitution requires it to be dismissed. What made the Prosecutor’s Office show that there are no valid reasons to request that Trump be cleared of these crimes.

It was planned that the court will sentence Trump for these crimes after the presidential election. It is not known whether after he wins the election, there are still plans to impeach him.
