Supercomputer gives Manchester City a 1.9% chance of winning the title while Liverpool are given an 82% chance.
Manchester City continues to face a series of defeats both domestically and in international competitions.
After losing to Manchester United last weekend, Manchester City fell 9 points behind Liverpool, and Liverpool has a game in hand, meaning that if they win, they will immediately gain 12 points.
After the defeat, a supercomputer gave Manchester City a 1.9% chance of winning the title, while the computer gave Manchester City a 4th place with a 42% chance. Liverpool were given an 82% chance of winning the trophy, while Arsenal, who have been in the hunt for it for two years, were given a 10.6% chance.
The computer also agrees with the Chelsea manager that they are not in the running for the title, giving them a 5.5% chance, while the team’s current ranking is third. Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City were among the surprise winners when it was announced that they would finish in the top four.
Despite being without Rodri, who is out with a long-term injury, Manchester City have won just one of their last 11 games in all competitions. They have lost two UEFA Champions League matches, against Sporting CP and Juventus, and have only managed to beat Nottingham Forest since being knocked out of the Carabao Cup.
Although the way they have ended seems to be very satisfactory for them, Manchester City has very difficult problems ahead of them with Brentford and Aston Villa, and in addition they will have to travel to the Parc des Princes when they will host Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League.
As things stand, Manchester City currently sits in 22nd place in the UEFA Champions League, level on points with PSV Eindhoven and Dinamo Zagreb. Is it very likely that Pep Guardiola’s reign is about to collapse after a long reign at the helm of this English league?
