Six Rwandan drones were shot down by FARDC forces. Yesterday, Wednesday, December 25, the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) announced that they had shot down six kamikaze drones believed to be operated by the Rwandan army in the airspace over the town of Mambasa, in the Lubero region.
This information was confirmed by Lieutenant Colonel Mak Hazukay, in charge of communication and public awareness regarding the activities of the FARDC’s Sokola 1 Grand Nord Program, when he spoke to the Congolese national media outlet known as Radio Télévision nationale congolaise (RTNC).
In another statement signed on the same day, the FARDC condemned the actions of the M23 rebel group, which claims to be supported by Rwanda, of using young Congolese men, dressed in uniforms similar to those of Rwandan soldiers, on the front lines of the battle so that they would be the first to die, especially near the Mambasa and Alimbongo combat zones, located south of Lubero territory.
In this statement signed by Colonel Mak Hazukay, the DRC government forces issued a warning to the M23 rebels, who were carrying weapons and were entering churches, schools, and hospitals in the occupied areas located south of Lubero.
This clear statement also deters this group from continuing to commit serious and deliberate violations of international humanitarian law.
The FARDC calls on civilians used as soldiers by this group to free themselves from this bondage and asks the population in areas controlled by M23 to leave their positions in order to better maintain their security.
Fight between DRC and M23 takes long time but it’s harder to be resolved and ended because it’s only M23 and DRC are conflicting but also Rwanda are in touch because DRC accuse Rwanda to support and helping M23 in various ways especially through military equipment like drone, Strong bomb ,guns and so on.
Also DRC accuse to give it’s Military to support M23 and giving Military training to M23 Soldiers.
