The President of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye announced that when he started living in the State House, he started farming, there was a whole garden and he cleared it and when a visitor came to him and found him farming, he immediately gave him water to farm because no one would eat for nothing.

President Ndayishimiye has been showing for days that Burundi is a rich country, with many things to support the people but there are people who are the country’s money that should be used for the development of the people.

The head of state said that there was a time when he was poor and started farming and breeding, he did it without debt, but after a while the chickens became profitable and he paid off the debt he had taken.

Between 2006 and 2007 when Ndayishimiye was the Minister of Public Security in the country he was given the government house, he found that he had to produce the land around it instead of continuing to eat what he inherited.

He said, “I saw where I live in Irohero, at that time I was the Minister and I found there was a big gap and I said, ‘Am I going to fast here?’ I buy rabbits, I bring in slaves, I bring in chickens and chickens from the garden before I clean them from the top of the house.

“I told my wife that I will not go shopping again, so what will we do? The person I remember is a person who came to visit me and found that I was farming and I immediately poured it, I said you stay where you are sitting while I work and you cook me food? He plowed for an hour and I said, “Give me Amstel now.”

It was in that farming that he saw that a farmer has a lot of things saved because he who has been farming for a week, all that he promised not to eat in one week to survive.

Figures for 2021 show that Umurundi earned US$353.

President Ndayishimiye says that the fact that more than 80% of those who live in houses without rent, and have meals, shows that their annual income is more than that.
