The Ukrainian and Chelsea winger has now spoken out after being suspended from playing professional football for both Chelsea and his national team, Ukraine, for using illegal performance-enhancing drugs.
On this day, December 17, 2024, news only emerged that this young man had been under investigation for days, as confirmed by his team in a statement on the matter.
Chelsea’s statement read: “Chelsea FC can confirm that the Football Association (FA) has met with Mykhailo Mudryk regarding his urine test.
“ Chelsea’s statement continued: “The club and Mykhailo Mudryk have all been fully involved in the FA’s testing process and all of our players, including Mykhailo, are subject to regular testing. Mykhailo confirms that he has not knowingly used any banned substance.
Mykhailo and the club will continue to work with all relevant authorities to establish the cause of this adverse reaction. The club will not be making any further comments.”
As stated in Chelsea’s statement, the Ukrainian player denies having used illegal substances and in his statement he confirmed that he had never knowingly used illegal performance-enhancing drugs. His message read: “I would like to confirm that I was indeed informed that the tests I submitted to the FA contained prohibited substances.
This comes as a huge shock as I have never used any prohibited substances or broken any other rules, I am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened.
“ ”I just know for sure that I haven’t done anything wrong, and I’m confident that I’ll be back on the pitch soon. I can’t say much due to the confidentiality of what we’re going through with the FA, but I will do it soon and not later.”
The Chelsea player comes after Frenchman Paul Pogba, who had his sentence reduced after also being convicted of these crimes, and there is a possibility that if the young man is convicted of these crimes, he could face severe punishments, including a four-year ban from the field.
This young man has suffered this after he was already not producing results for Chelsea, having played only seven games in the Premier League this season without scoring a goal or creating a single shot on target.
