From the first telephones that used wires to transmit voice (landlines), to cell towers and portable phones (mobile), all are considered primarily communication devices primarily through voice.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, the telephone has gone from being a device for voice communication and text messaging (SMS), to being used for recording and sending videos, accessing the Internet, sending instant messages, dating and ‘people on social media etc.

Due to the increasing capabilities of mobile phones, they can now do more than just send or receive messages.

1. A phone can be used to measure heart rate

This system was invented in 1951, and is widely used in supermarkets, to speed up the payment process. Bar codes are also used to identify additional information about an existing device.

In the doctor’s office they are used to store information about the patient, in the post office they are used to know the location of a letter or a certain package that has arrived on the trip.

In order for the phone to be able to read barcodes, you need to install an App capable of reading them, for example called “QR&Barcode Scanner”.

Amazon’s Flow is an App that helps you identify a certain device, if you arrive at an unknown location it will tell you the name of the location.

An app called Google Lens, which you can use to interpret a foreign language, for example, if you see a page written in a language you do not understand, it can translate what is written on that page.

These Apps are especially helpful for parents with babies, to know if the child wakes up in the middle of the night, to know if the child has a problem, and immediately call the parent’s number.

7. A phone that can act as a remote control

8. You can start your car with your phone!
