AC Milan has a new coach
Former FC Porto coach Sérgio Conceição has been appointed as the new head coach of AC Milan following the dismissal of Paulo Fonseca.Sérgio Conceição, a former midfielder for various clubs such as Lazio, Parma and Inter Milan, has signed an 18-month contract to coach AC Milan.
The 50-year-old Portuguese coach won 11 trophies in his six-year spell as manager of FC Porto before stepping down at the end of last season.
This player is in great demand in Milan, as he has his first test on January 3, 2025, when AC Milan will face Juventus in the first leg of the Italian Cup semi-final.It will be a historic match for both sides, given that the Juventus team he will be playing for will also feature his son Conceição.
AC Milan decided to part ways with Fonseca just hours after a 1-1 draw with AS Roma at the San Siro.It was a game that left the European champions in a difficult position, as they immediately found themselves in 8th place, while Atalanta and Napoli lead the league table by 14 points.
