Christopher Nkuku is part near to joins FC Barcelona. Barcelona are interested in signing Chelsea’s French midfielder Christopher Nkunku in January 2025 after reports emerged that Nkunku was unhappy at the club after not getting enough playing time this season.

The 27-year-old Nkunku has been the subject of media speculation for some time now that he could leave the Stamford Bridge club after failing to find enough playing time for the team coached by Enzo Maresca.

Nkunku has only started twice in the league, with Chelsea currently second in the league table, four points behind Liverpool, and has scored two goals this season.Although Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been sidelining the Frenchman and only playing him in competitions such as the UEFA Conference League and Carabao Cup, Nkunku has scored ten goals alone this season.

According to newspapers such as Sport 45 and the Daily Mail sports section, the Frenchman is starting to get tired of playing so few minutes for the club in the west of the British capital, London. The news also confirms that Christopher Nkunku’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has already received a request from Barcelona’s transfer agents, although the Catalan club says it is not ready to pay the full amount immediately, but rather in installments, with the deadline set for the summer of 2025.

The Frenchman signed for Chelsea in December 2022 for a fee of just €53 million, with an agreement that he would join the club in the summer of 2023.

The Italian coach, Maresca, replaced Pochettino in June, and when he arrived, he chose to use Nicolas Jackson as a striker instead of Nkunku. The Frenchman can also play as a full-back, but Cole Palmer, as Chelsea’s star player, is currently unlikely to be replaced.

FC Barcelona struggling on this day especially on defensive side try to correct it by recruiting players who have high experience and maturity.
