Today, December 1, the AS Kigali team hosted APR FC in the match of the 11th day of the Rwanda Championship 2024-25.
It was a game that both teams came close to, as AS Kigali wanted to continue their five-year unbeaten streak against APR FC.
The APR FC team also went down in the match because they wanted to get rid of the bad promise of spending these years without success in front of AS Kigali.
It’s a game, and APR FC came down to the field wanting to win, especially because before the game they had 14 points in 8th place, while the AS Kigali team had 20 points in 2nd place.
Both teams remained at a loss, but the game reached the 38th minute without any team opening the gates; only Mugisha Gilbert and Mamadou Sy on the APR FC side were going to try their best, and Shaban Hussein was in a bad condition in the AS Kigali stadium.
The first half ended with both teams tied for free. The second half is back, and both teams are still trying to win.
At the 48th minute, Claude raised the ball and looked for Mamadou Sy, but APR FC had a few chances, and the ball went wide. In the 50th minute, AS Kigali saw the way of Aboubakar Saidi, who shot away from the defense of Pavelh Ndzila, but the ball went over the top.
In the 63rd minute, APP FC got a shot from Niyomugabo Claude; Niyigena Clement stood up and scored APR FC’s first goal with a good header.
As soon as the AS Kigali team lost the first goal, they lost a lot of energy but continued to miss a goal.
AS Kigali arrived when Iyabivuze Osee combined to Shaban Hussein, and the 90th minute ended with the goal not yet available, adding five extra minutes.
The game ended with APR FC beating AS Kigali by one free goal, immediately taking the 5th place with 17 points. The AS Kigali team, despite losing the current game, remained at 20 points but did not lose second place.
